Château Pichon-Longueville Baron

Founded in the late 17th century, Château Pichon-Longueville Baron has a rich history rooted in Bordeaux’s winemaking tradition. The estate was established in 1694 when Pierre Desmezures de Rauzan, a renowned wine merchant, acquired vineyards near the Latour estate. These vineyards became part of the dowry of his daughter, Thérèse, who married Baron Jacques Pichon de Longueville, giving rise to the Château. In 1850, the property was divided into two: Baron Raoul Pichon de Longueville’s share became Château Pichon Baron, while his sisters inherited the other portion, forming Pichon Comtesse. Today, Château Pichon Baron is one of the most respected historic estates in Bordeaux, known for its rigorous selection process and dedication to quality. With 73 hectares of vineyards, the Château primarily cultivates Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (30%), Cabernet Franc (3%), and Petit Verdot (2%). The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected to produce exceptional wines, particularly the Grand Vin, Château Pichon Baron, and the second wines, Les Tourelles and Les Griffons de Pichon Baron.
